As part of membership activities and representing the interests of the Association members, the AAIS has been involved in numerous human capital focused discussions with industry, government and training institutions ever since our formation in 2003. The volume of human capital related issues and enquiries from all parties slowly escalated, the Association felt it was timely to form a tripartite committee led by the industry to concentrate on human capital matters and officialise matters such as course curriculum endorsement and industry feedback on workforce policy matters amongst others.
On 25 May 2010, the Aerospace Human Capital Steering Committee (AHCSC) was formed, with Mr Charles Chong, President of the AAIS as its Chairman, and Mr William Goh, President of the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE) as its Deputy Chairman. Members of the committee represent most if not all sectors of the industry, and are of senior management level with decision-making powers.
After endorsement of the AHCSC Terms of Reference, the AHCSC acted to form four sub-committees and appoint their Chairpersons:
AeroWorkforce Policy Sub-Committee
Chairperson: Ms Zarina Piperdi, SVP, Human Resource, SIA Engineering Company
AeroCurriculum and Skills Sub-Committee

AeroCareer Development and Promotion Sub-Committee
Chairman: Mr Chew Sin Chor, GM, ST Aviation Services Co. Pte Ltd
