Any company that wishes to achieve and perpetuate its competitive supremacy over a long period of time needs to have in place an ongoing and aggressive new product creation program.
The new products that most companies develop are often not new products at all. Most companies concentrate their entire product innovation effort on incremental or marginal improvements to existing products. This type of product innovation is not strategic in nature since there is no attempt to change the "look" of the products a company offers.
DPI's Process of Strategic Product Innovation (SPI) is a systematic, focused approach to searching for, evaluating, developing and commercializing a stready stream of new-to-the-market products. Unlike other product development approaches, this process:
- Focuses entirely on new-to-the-market products, not product extensions
- Creates brand new revenue streams, not incremental increases
- Fills the "hopper" with dozens, if not hundreds, of innovative new product concepts
- Results in a comprehensive commercialization plan, delineating actions that ensure successful product launches
Who Should Attend?
SPI harnesses your key people's understanding of changes and opportunities emerging in your company's markets, technologies, and business environment. It directs that knowledge through a creative yet rational pathway to drive out opportunities for new-to-the-market product concepts - products that do not exist today.
