This course is designed to provide a practical understanding of fracture mechnics principles through a combination of lecture and problem solving workshops. Design and failure analysis for monotonic and cyclic loaded components will be covered.

Course Coverage |

Take away a new understanding of topics such as fracture toughness testing, ductile fracture testing, stress corrosion cracking and fatigue failure. Linear and non-linear fracture mechnic concepts and methods appropriate for a given loading or failure mode will be applied to make sense of this sometimes confusing discipline. |
