The Business Times - SALES worth $1.7 million were generated during the three-day inaugural Singapore Aerospace Supplier eXchange (ASX), which concluded yesterday.
'Within these difficult times, businesses are constantly looking for opportunities to diversify, cut costs, improve efficiency, enhance their supply chain, and bring more value to their customers,' said Association of Aerospace Industries Singapore (AAIS) president Charles Chong, speaking at the inaugural Singapore Aerospace Awards (SAA) yesterday evening.

The Straits Times - THE aviation industry may be going through turbulent times but the mid to long-term prospects for Asia's aerospace sector are strong.
Last year, total revenues for the Asia-Pacific region hit US$22 billion and this is expected to triple by 2030, said Transport Minister Raymond Lim. Speaking at an industry event at the Raffles Town Club on Friday night, he added that the total aircraft fleet in the region was also expected to jump more than 50 per cent.

The Business Times - SINGAPORE'S aerospace industry chalked up record output of more than $7 billion last year - a rise from $6.89 billion in 2007 - according to preliminary figures from the Economic Development Board.
'Despite the current slowdown, confidence in the aerospace sector remains strong,' Trade and Industry Minister Lim Hng Kiang said at the opening of the inaugural Aerospace Supplier Exchange (ASX), a regional conference and exhibition that kicked off yesterday morning.
The Straits Times - DESPITE a slowdown in the aviation industry towards the end of last year, Singapore's aerospace sector posted a record output of more than $7 billion in 2008. But business was hit and while the final numbers are not out yet, the growth over 2007 is believed to be under 5 per cent. Total output grew 10.4 per cent in 2007 to $6.9 billion.
